The magic behind great web designs is in DETAILS

Website design is a mammoth task. A web designer can create magnificent web designs only if he/she possesses the knack for intricate details that determine the success of the website. They say God is in details.

Though every website is characterized by its uniqueness, following are the common threads that bind good websites together. They are:

DETAILS

These days there are numerous tools readily available with the designers to help them create websites that are organized, encompass intricate design as well as graphical details and are rich in quality content.

Attention to minute details pumps the website with a structured look and makes it appear professional. Lack to important details can make a website look disastrous and unprofessional.

ALIGNMENT

Vertical and horizontal alignment is the key to a successful website design. Random placement of contents on the website extracts its essence and adds an untidy feel to it. For a fresh and clean website maintaining proper alignment is a must. Take care of the empty spaces between elements and use the space intelligently without making cramming the whole of this space.

CONTRAST

Using contrasting colors, text and other elements on the website always attracts users and garners the required interest. Using the art of contrast is tricky. Intelligent use of contrasting colors adds a unique charm to the website and helps develop significant hierarchy.

TYPE EFFECTS

Opting for the best type font is one of the most difficult jobs that a designer has to comply with. Font type should be selected that syncs well with website category (industry type), color schemes, readability, background and other factors that you deem important.

Selecting the wrong font can mess up the website’s presentation all together and render it insignificant of a visit. Common font should be used for titles and similarly for text within the web page. Mismatch will make the page look jumbled and messy.

COLOR

Color plays a pivotal role in the process of web design. Designer must, very carefully, select his color palette and use it wisely across the website. Using colors that are sober and don’t hurt the eyes is a good idea. Colors in the background should pave way for text to be readable. Color variation is another idea that can be toyed with. The entire website can either be designed in mono color with different hues or different colors can be used on separate web pages.

 CONSISTENCY

Design should be consistent throughout the website. While navigating from one page to the other a user should be able to connect to the website. Logos should not differ from page to page nor should header and text font vary. Though every page needs to be designed differently yet they should connect with striking similarities. Hence maintaining consistency throughout is a must.
